Following a machine reboot the other day, my copy of Atlassian JIRA stopped working with a startup error that the lock file was still in place. I have had this happen before and so to make sure it doesn’t happen again, I’ve written a script which is set to run on startup to stop the JIRA service delete the lock file and then start the service again.
net stop JIRA221210171026
del “C:\Program Files (x86)\Atlassian\Application Data\JIRA\.jira-home.lock”
net start JIRA221210171026
This works well for me and is one more thing that can be automated to save me the hassle. Your JIRA service name may be different of course.
